A recent joint security operation in Syria successfully apprehended multiple "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements in Aleppo province and al-Bab town.

Security forces seized significant quantities of weapons, ammunition and a large arms cache while also uncovering several terrorist hideouts.

On July 28, the Syrian Ministry of Interior announced that the mission was executed by Internal Security Forces and the General Intelligence Directorate.

This operation was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle ISIS networks, marking a decisive step against the group's presence.

"The Syrian government consistently prioritizes counter-terrorism, explaining the frequent and effective security campaigns targeting ISIS strongholds across various regions," Syrian journalist Mohammed al-Abdullah told Al-Fassel.

These operations garner substantial public support, as citizens remain deeply traumatized by the violence, bombings and arbitrary arrests endured during the group's brutal rule.

"The population is desperate to prevent any return to those horrific conditions," he added.

Coordinated security operations

Current security operations now extend throughout most Syrian territories, demonstrating the state's firm path toward recovery and its unwavering determination to reassert sovereignty.

"The noose is tightening around ISIS remnants. With borders near Iraq and Lebanon now secured, the extremist group suffers from severed supply lines and a chronic lack of funding," military expert and terror group specialist Yahya Mohammed Ali told Al-Fassel.

Consequently, these coordinated security operations represent the final phase in the total eradication of terrorism.

Success relies heavily on precise cooperation among security agencies to ensure comprehensive intelligence sharing and optimal results.

Public vigilance in counter-terrorism efforts

Ali further noted that "Syrian citizens serve as the most crucial factor in these ongoing security operations today."

"While professional intelligence is vital, reports provided by vigilant civilians frequently prove far more valuable in identifying hidden threats," he added.

ISIS operatives often conceal themselves on the outskirts of populated areas but must emerge for supplies or communication, exposing them to local discovery.

Syrian citizens collectively look forward to lasting change and the restoration of national prosperity.

Establishing comprehensive security remains a fundamental prerequisite for attracting necessary investment and beginning the reconstruction of devastated infrastructure.
