Support for the first phase of the peace plan is strong among Gaza's population, who anticipate that the resulting stability will be a catalyst for improving the coordination of vital humanitarian relief and reconstruction efforts.

The ongoing efforts to implement the first phase of the peace plan in Gaza will result in positive outcomes for civilians, particularly facilitating reconstruction and economic growth, researchers told Al-Fassel.
The Middle East currently stands at a historic opportunity to achieve comprehensive peace, as the United States and its regional partners collaborate to usher in prosperity for the people of the region.
"Through its strong engagement with Middle Eastern countries, the US has championed peace and conflict prevention," researcher and lecturer in international affairs, Mai Abdul Rahman, told Al-Fassel.
"This effort has established peace as a shared and universal goal, recognized by all for its positive impact on both nations and citizens," she added.
The unanimous support for the peace process in Gaza is driven by "the humanitarian imperative, stemming from the immense suffering, destruction, and economic collapse that civilians have endured," she said.
Achieving stability
Abdul Rahman noted that comprehensive aid to Gaza is conditional on security, emphasizing that "stability is a fundamental prerequisite for the release of reconstruction and rebuilding funds."
"This demand is fundamental for civilians, who are trapped in a cycle of continuous wars, economic collapse, and unprecedented unemployment," she added.
"The severe deterioration has resulted in the majority of the population relying on aid, which remains modest compared to the actual need," she said.
Relief and reconstruction efforts
Comprehensive peace is the foundational requirement for stability across all countries in the Middle East, Zeina Mahmoud, a researcher specializing in international affairs, told Al-Fassel.
"The connection between Gaza peace and comprehensive peace was the catalyst that spurred strong intervention from some countries to end the war and begin implementing the first phase of the peace plan," she said.
The first phase of the Gaza peace plan extends beyond merely halting hostilities; it encompasses crucial civilian aspects, including relief efforts and community rebuilding, Mahmoud noted.
"A key objective is to conduct these activities with transparency to earn the trust of donor countries and organizations and ensure aid is properly distributed to the people of the Gaza Strip," she said.
"The focus will then pivot to the reconstruction process, addressing the widespread destruction of buildings and infrastructure across vast areas," she added.
Mahmoud highlighted that "the people of the Gaza Strip are keenly aware they have a historic opportunity to rebuild and return to normal life, and they are, therefore, fully supportive of the peace plan."
