Iran's backing of al-Qaeda worsens conflicts across the region
Al-Qaeda's relationship with its sympathizers in Arab countries such as Yemen, Syria and Libya is primarily facilitated on Iranian soil, analysts say.

HERAT -- The Iranian regime's support for al-Qaeda has revitalized the group in Afghanistan, enabling it to carry out destabilizing activities across the region, analysts say.
Al-Qaeda has established safe havens in 10 provinces of Afghanistan, including Herat, Farah and Helmand, which border Iran, as well as in Badghis, Ghazni, Laghman, Parwan, Zabul, Nangarhar and Nuristan, the United Nations Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team said in a January 29 report.
The group has opened eight new training camps, five madrassas, a weapon depot and safe houses, including safe houses in Kabul, in order to facilitate the movement of al-Qaeda operatives between Afghanistan and Iran, it said.
Al-Qaeda has also established a weapon and ammunition depot in Panjshir province, the report added.
At the network's madrassas in Helmand, Kunar, Nangarhar, Nuristan and Parwan, young individuals receive terrorist indoctrination, it said.
Many al-Qaeda operatives travel between the two countries to facilitate communication between their de facto leader, Saif al-Adel, in Iran and senior al-Qaeda figures in Afghanistan, including Abdul Rahman al-Ghamdi, the monitoring team said.
Al-Adel reportedly resides in a villa in Kelardasht, Iran.
Threatening global security
Iran's double game and the resurgence of al-Qaeda in Afghanistan have deeply alarmed security analysts and the general population.
"In addition to providing refuge to the leader and other senior members of al-Qaeda, Iran has strengthened and bolstered the group by establishing training centers for its members [in Afghanistan]," a military analyst in Herat city told Al-Fassel.
"Other al-Qaeda leaders such as Yasin al-Suri, Mustafa Hamid, Abdul Rahman Maghribi and some of Osama bin Laden's and Ayman al-Zawahiri's close associates enjoy a comfortable life in Iran," he said.
Al-Qaeda's relationship with its sympathizers in Arab countries such as Yemen, Syria and Libya is primarily facilitated on Iranian soil, he added.
By establishing safe havens in Afghanistan, al-Qaeda is planning to extend its terrorist activities worldwide, warned Hamza Baloch, a military analyst in Nimroz province, which shares a border with Iran.
"Iran's support for al-Qaeda stems from the belief that 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend,'" he said. "The Iranian regime aims to destabilize regional and global security by backing al-Qaeda."
A fabricated article and information to attack Iran. Everyone knows that al-Qaeda, ISIS, and the so-called Syrian opposition, such as Jabhat al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham, and other dogs and pigs of America, are an American creation as admitted by American politicians themselves, such as Obama, Hillary, and the crazy Trump, so you can dupe only yourselves. No, nobody except for fools and seniles, like Biden, believes your information.
