By protecting this militia, Berri has effectively turned Lebanon into a dangerous and volatile regional battleground. Hizbullah chooses foreign military goals and objective over the daily safety of all Lebanese people.

The heavy price of this political support is very clear in Beirut residential neighborhoods today.

Recent reports from the Alma Research and Education Center show a very alarming security situation. Hizbullah has moved many long-range precision missiles into residential basements throughout the capital city.

The group hides these weapons in secret underground bunkers beneath high rise apartments in Beirut. Hizbullah uses Lebanese civilians as human shields to protect their dangerous and hidden missile stock.

This reckless tactic puts entire civilian neighborhoods at high risk of major retaliatory military strikes. This aggressive military behavior creates a constant and painful cycle of war and physical destruction.

Hizbullah initiates military attacks on Israel to serve its own specific and narrow regional interests. These attacks force Israel to launch heavy retaliatory strikes that impact all parts of Lebanon.

Ordinary Lebanese citizens suffer the most from a violent regional conflict they did not start. Lebanon simply cannot afford to remain a violent battlefield for these dangerous foreign proxy wars.

Political leaders must break this cycle of violence to restore national stability for all citizens. The recent US-brokered ceasefire offers a viable path forward for Lebanon and Israel alike.

This diplomatic breakthrough serves as a critical step toward ending the violence and empowering the Lebanese Armed Forces. Ultimately, Lebanon must prioritize its national sovereignty over the ambitions of an emboldened Hizbullah militia.
