Palestinians welcome Gaza peace plan for prosperity

The people of Gaza are eagerly anticipating a maintained ceasefire and the implementation of the peace plan to end the bloodshed, rebuild Gaza, and achieve a dignified life.

Residents of Gaza and the international community welcomed the 20-point peace plan for halting war and displacement, Palestinians told Al-Fassel.

The plan mandates a ceasefire, an end to the war in Gaza, and reconstruction under international supervision to ensure long-term stability.

It also calls for the full demilitarization of Gaza, with a temporary technocratic administration governing the territory as Hamas disarms and relinquishes any official role.

Ending the war

"Important to both the Palestinian and Israeli sides, President Trump's peace plan achieved a key demand of the people of Gaza by ending the war," said Mohammed Hawash, a writer and political analyst based in Ramallah.

Gazans are relieved by the plan because it halted displacement and enabled the entry of humanitarian aid, overcoming existing challenges, he told Al-Fassel.

"The plan's points, along with the UN Security Council's approval, are welcomed across a broad spectrum, including the residents of Gaza, the Palestinian Authority, all Palestinians, and the international community," he added.

The people of Gaza desire a maintained and implemented ceasefire, Hawash said.

"As well as the opportunity to participate in the plan's provisions for reconstruction, an end to the killing, and the right to live together in dignity," he added.

The entry of humanitarian aid

"Stopping the war guarantees an end to the bloodshed, allows for the entry of humanitarian aid such as food, medicine, and fuel, and removes the threat of starvation," said Palestinian writer and journalist from Ramallah Muhannad Abdul Hamid.

"The peace plan eliminated key justifications for continuing the war by ensuring the release of Israeli hostages, both living and dead, and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners," he said.

Abdul Hamid pointed to the US president's affirmation that Israel will not occupy or annex the West Bank, an assurance that reinforces a commitment to a two-state framework.

"The plan sets the foundation for reconstruction and the resumption of normal life through the establishment of new political, administrative, and security structures," he added.

The priority for Gazans, Abdul Hamid said, is halting the death, destruction, and displacement.

"They desire the reopening of hospitals and schools, and the restoration of fishing, agriculture, and productive work."
