Strategic breach in Houthi leadership

Yemen's legitimate military forces have announced a strategic breakthrough against Iran-backed Houthi militias, marking a turning point in the conflict.

Brig. Gen. Abdo Majali confirmed that several senior Houthi leaders have defected, including Brig. Gen. Salah al-Salahi, commander of the "Tenth Sammad Brigade."

Majali said the defections have triggered disarray and mistrust within the Houthi leadership, weakening their operational cohesion and morale.

Al-Salahi denounced the Houthis' crimes and urged remaining fighters to "return to the embrace of the republic." He cited injustice, tyranny and destruction as reasons for abandoning the militia and joining the legitimate government forces.

Internal collapse of the Houthis

Majali revealed that Yemen's military has infiltrated Houthi security agencies, gaining access to sensitive internal operations and command structures.

Defectors have provided critical intelligence that will help the government plan more precise and effective military strategies.

The intelligence includes details on Houthi logistics, command centers and internal divisions, according to Majali.

He said the Houthis are facing collapse due to growing internal fractures, defections and loss of public support.

The Yemeni army has used this momentum to launch targeted operations in key regions, further destabilizing Houthi control.

Boosting morale and public confidence

Majali emphasized that the army is prepared for decisive victory and is gaining ground across multiple fronts. He said the recent defections have boosted morale among troops and increased public confidence in the legitimate government.

Defectors have expressed joy in returning to the state's fold and pledged loyalty to the republic.

Outrage over Houthi crimes has driven more support for the government and encouraged additional defections.

Majali called on remaining Houthi fighters to lay down arms and avoid further involvement in "terrorist crimes." He said the government welcomes all who choose to abandon the militias and join the national cause.

A turning point in Yemen's conflict

The military's success marks a pivotal moment in Yemen's conflict, shifting momentum toward the legitimate authorities.

As defections continue and intelligence deepens, the collapse of the Houthis appears increasingly imminent.

This progress strengthens the resolve of the Yemeni people and signals hope for a future free from militia oppression.

Majali said the government remains committed to restoring peace, sovereignty and stability across Yemen.
