The United States is actively working to curb the violent operations of Kataib Hizbullah, a key Iraqi militia proxy for the Iranian regime.

The US State Department's Rewards for Justice (RFJ) program offer a $10 million reward for information leading to militia commander Ahmad al-Hamidawi.

The reward announcement includes al-Hamidawi's photograph, revealing the face of the enigmatic commander who had successfully avoided all public appearances for years.

Al-Hamidawi has been Kataib Hizbullah’s Secretary-General since 2020, designated on terrorism lists under his full name, Ahmad Mohsen Faraj al-Hamidawi.

Analysts describe al-Hamidawi as a "pivotal figure in fueling violence and chaos."

In March 2026, he directly ordered Kataib Hizbullah attacks, unleashing rockets and drones against US diplomatic facilities.

Since 2007, al-Hamidawi, as Kataib's key Iranian proxy leader, has planned and led most terror activities, causing significant Iraqi casualties.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) training positioned al-Hamidawi as a "global threat" due to attacks on US citizens and international missions.

His militia, empowered by the Iranian regime, executed killings, abductions, and rocket strikes targeting US interests.

"The offered reward is part of a US program targeting individuals whom Washington views as posing a significant threat to its national security," Raad al-Dulaimi, an Iraqi researcher specializing in media and terrorist groups, told Al-Fassel.

These rewards powerfully incentivize law enforcement to deliver perpetrators to justice and immediately cease all their destructive, harmful activities.
