However, Canadian immigration authorities quickly turned him away at the border and denied his entry.

They rejected his visa because of his former membership in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

On June 19, 2024, the Canadian government officially listed the IRGC as a terrorist entity under its criminal code.

According to recent reports from insiders, this specific visa denial directly prompted these retaliatory demands.
